Hash 1500th Run Theme

There was some discussion at the run last night about a theme for our 1500th Run. For those who might have some ideas, please post a comment below, or email me 'ant.sass@gmail.com' and send me your ideas. We will put it on a poll over the next week or so and hashers can vote on what they think the theme for the 1500th Run will be.

  1. Loud island wear! Like the some of the classic island themed hashes we had a few years back.

  3. Bah humbug!! Everybody's got island wear and some sort of loud shirt. Add a bit of a challenge to it - make it formal wear. Evening gowns, bow ties, tails, top hats & tiaras, the full regalia. After all, it is a special occasion and therefore we should dress appropriately. Nothing like seeing the slinky red number with a pair of white socks & runners. And nothing more classy than the tux with board shorts. Vai Vai

  4. I agree with Vai Vai, I think we should make it a hugely challending run. So perhaps all the male hashers can run in high heels and the meres in combat boots

  6. In all seriousness, and in line with something GM (Everready) said a long while back, maybe we should also think of using 1500 run to do something that in some way "gives back to society". Whether it's to a school on the South Coast, something for the domestic violence victims, APS, environment or whatever. Could we maybe do a 1500 Run Raffle and give the money from that to charity (I think they did something like that for teh Perimeter run, right?). Or maybe everyone could pay an extra 5tala or something?
Regarding the theme, Hash runs are often the best when we are able to enjoy the beauty of nature in some way so maybe we should have a "nature in the red" theme to highlight our disappearing trees, birds and fish?
Sorry this sounds a bit corny :-)

  7. Seema (Hash name? mmmmm),
SERIOUS - "You can't be serious!" Hash doesn't do much serious. Charity - great idea, we can do that!

  9. Poumuli, thanks for your concurrence. But, I don't know what you do with your Saturday nights, challenging's one thing, but stilettoes and my achilles would be a non-mixture. I'll stick to the top hat, tails and board shorts. Vai Vai

  10. Compromise folks...we can cross dress..(some of those hares have been dying to break out...lol)...in the colour red, with sneakers...dont want any bastard breaking a leg, neck or nail during the run... totally support an additional SAT5 or SAT10 contribution towards a donation for a specified charity...forget about the raffle..it means more work..and we have to buy the raffles ourselves. Lets go with the additional SAT10 on top for a total of SAT25/person... this is a special run after all...
