Apia Hash Remembers Desirable

It is with great sadness that we report that Desirable (Luana) passed away last night, Wednesday 3 June, 2009. The severe injuries she sustained from Monday’s tragic auto accident were just too much.

Desirable is the loving daughter of Karaoke and Eveready, and the loving sister of Delicious. Desirable was a beautiful, cheerful young woman very dear to the members of the Apia Hash House Harriers. Our hearts are so heavy. We will all sorely miss her.

The GM, Eveready has asked that we post our condolences and memories here, so that they may be compiled by the family.

  2. For the family

    The tide recedes,
    but leaves behind
    bright seashells on the sand,

    The sun goes down,
    but gentle warmth
    still lingers on the land,

    The music stops,
    and yet it echoes on
    sweet refrains ...

    For every joy that passes,
    something beautiful remains.

    The sorrow of the faithful
is not that of permanent loss,
but the tender sense of sadness
that comes in saying good-bye for now
    to someone we love.
    May today's sorrow give way
    to the peace and
    comfort of God's love.

  18. Sending our love, thoughts, and prayers to Desirable's (Luana's) wonderful family. A very bright star has left us, leaving so much sadness. Today, we remember Desirable's bright smile, bubbly personality, and infectious enthusiasm. When she was around, frowns quickly turned to smiles (she got me twice last week!). Still can't believe she's gone. She had such a kind and loving heart that we will not forget.

Thank you Luana for all the love and kindness you have shown us. God Bless,

    Mr. Whippy

  34. I’ve been lost for words,
    Since the day I heard,
That you’re departing, a short lived but, eventful life
Inevitably, my heart felt as if it were drowning as tears filled my eyes
Undecided as to agree on whether to be happy that you’re in peace
Or whether to be sad that you had to leave
It’s unbelievable and it breaks my heart to say
We can’t be selfish with you any longer and with that said,
You’ll never be too far away...
You are engraved on our hearts and forever in our Memories *LUANA*
And you are in a better place now with our Heavenly Father...

MAY GOD’s WARMTH HEAL AND STRENGTHEN LUANA’S FAMILY DURING THIS TIME OF HARDSHIP

    CHILDHOOD:
I still remember her as a beautiful little girl with palagi eyes and golden curls but despite footprints we lost along the way growing up, It feels like it was only yesterday..

  40. At times of total darkness there will eventually be light
In moments of great sadness will arrive seconds of joy
When engulfed in depths of sorrow only then will cometh humor
Whilst embraced by the feeling of loss there will arrive a reason to smile, if only a moment.
And when all else seems lost and helpless there will offered the opened arms, and the helping hand, of love and support
Always in hours of greatest need there will inevitably come respite

When the doors are thrown open to God, and all who love and care for the memory of the lovely Luana, make no mistake these moments will come.
It is in these moments which Desirable will be truly remembered, and it is clearly reflected in the light, the joy, the humor and all the many reasons to laugh and smile that she brought to the lives of others.

  49. I miss you so much Lulu, I can't even begin to imagine the pain your family is going through, given that I'm finding it so hard to deal with the pain I am feeling at having lost such a beautiful person in my life...
There are so many things I wanted to say but couldn't find the strength and so I'll take this opportunity to share some of my favourite memories of you....
Like when we finally arrived in Wellington after weeks of anticipation, to find that we couldn't get tickets to the first day of the 7's, but didn't let it stop us crashing someone else's party!
Doing the siva samoa to techno music in the clubs... We were so proud to be Samoan... even though they lost!
How you are the NZ mall queen and can tell me exactly where to park for the shop I need to go to!
When we're getting ready to go out on the town, I ask you for a dress to wear and you bring at least 3 or 4 for me to choose from!
"Get Low" was your song.... and we always had a competition to see who could get the lowest!
When you said you were going to Rarotonga and I said "you can't leave, who will be my partner in crime?" you replied "I don't want to be a criminal anymore!"
The night we went to watch the NZ breakers and yelled "Go Manu Samoa" on Maori TV's live broadcast!
That same night we almost got Jay and Tasi kicked out of their inner city apartment because we were so loud.. "I ain't even bovvered!"
.....and how all the boys were mesmerised by your beautiful eyes.... chellaz!
There are so many memories of you Lulu... so many good times... and so many things that will always remind me of you...
I know you're watching over us and you can see that we hold a special place in our hearts for you...
    Love you long toime!
    Rest in Peace darling
